Your email address and login credentials (handled by Clerk, we never see your password). Everything you put into TankMind about your tank: tank profiles, water parameter logs, livestock inventory, dosing, feeding and maintenance records, photos, lab results, and your conversations with the AI. Standard usage data such as session counts and which features you use. If you subscribe, payments are processed by Stripe, your card number never touches our servers. If you enable alerts, we store a push-notification subscription for your device.
Your tank data and conversation history exist for one purpose: powering TankMind’s personalized answers about your tank. We also use it to send things you’ve asked for, parameter alerts, weekly briefs, trial reminders. We do not sell your data to third parties, fish stores, equipment brands, or anyone else, and we don’t use it to advertise to you.
TankMind’s responses are generated using Anthropic’s Claude API. When you ask a question, your message and relevant tank context are transmitted to Anthropic to produce the answer, subject to Anthropic’s API terms. API data of this kind is not used by Anthropic to train their models.
Our marketing pages use the Meta Pixel to measure whether our ads work, it sets cookies and reports events like page views to Meta. We also send Meta conversion events (for example, that a trial started) from our servers, which can include your email address in hashed form and technical details like IP address, so ad results can be measured even when browser tracking is blocked. This measurement applies to signup and marketing activity, not to your tank data: what you log inside TankMind is never shared with advertisers. You can limit ad tracking through your browser settings or your Meta ad preferences.
We count page views with Vercel’s privacy-friendly analytics, which uses no cookies and doesn’t track you across sites.
We use a small set of service providers to run TankMind: Clerk (sign-in), Stripe (billing), Supabase (database and photo storage), Anthropic (AI responses), Vercel (hosting), Resend (email), and Meta (ad measurement on marketing pages only). Each processes only what its job requires.
Your data is retained while your account is active. If you cancel, we keep your tank history so you can come back later and pick up where you left off, a reef’s history is worth keeping, and many hobbyists return. If you want your data gone instead, delete your account at any time (see below) and everything is permanently removed.
You can view and edit your tank data in the app at any time. You can export everything you’ve ever logged, parameters, livestock, logs, photos, conversations, as a single file from the Account page, whenever you like. You can permanently delete your account and all of its data from the Account page; deletion is immediate, complete, and irreversible, and also cancels any active subscription. Data is encrypted in transit, stored with per-user access controls, and reachable only through authenticated sessions. Payment credentials are held by Stripe, and login credentials by Clerk, both specialists in exactly that.
TankMind is not directed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their data.
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we’ll update the date above and, for significant changes, tell you by email or in the app.
